Changes to the telephone network connections for the Medical Helpline 116117 service on 9 January 2

The telephone network operator for the Medical Helpline 116117 service will change on 9 January 2024. During the work to accomplish the change, there may be short interruptions in the service.

The work will take place between 9.00 and 14.00, so there may be interruptions in access to the Medical Helpline. The work is scheduled during office hours, so you should also be able to get help from your own health centre. If you cannot get through to the Medical Helpline immediately, you should try again after a few moments.

Technical modifications always pose a small risk of possible wider disruptions to the service, even though the modifications have been carefully prepared with the telephone operators, DigiFinland Oy and the wellbeing services counties providing the service, the City of Helsinki and HUS. If unexpected problems occur during the work and there is a longer interruption in the telephone service, this will be announced in DigiFinland's X-messaging service.

116 117 is a toll-free number offering advice and guidance over the phone in the event of sudden health problems such as illness or accidents. In life-threatening situations, always call the general emergency number 112. If your health centre is open, that should always be your first point of contact. The service is organised by the wellbeing services counties, the City of Helsinki and HUS. DigiFinland Oy is responsible for the national coordination of the 116 117 Medical Helpline service.
