Medical Helpline 116117 is a health care advisory and guidance service organised by wellbeing services counties, the City of Helsinki and the Joint Authority of the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS). The Medical Helpline 116117 service is intended as a contact channel for residents' urgent health problems, which are not emergency situations, especially during on-call hours. Residents are advised to contact the service before going to the outpatient clinic. A health care professional carries out an assessment of the need for treatment on the phone or in a chat and directs the patient to the correct place of treatment with the right urgency.
